Pilonidal Sinus: Meaning, Causes, Symptoms, Treatment & Cost
The pilonidal sinus is an anorectal condition that occurs inside the hair follicles of cleft or deep groove running between the buttocks. The cleft or the groove is called the natal cleft. The medical condition affects males more than females. It is found to be associated with various health conditions like trauma, obesity, unhygienic conditions, and sedentary lifestyle.

NON-SURGICAL TREATMENTS
Antibiotic prescription
The treatment plan involving broad-spectrum antibiotics are given to fight with large number of infections and help deal with the associated discomfort. The treatment is followed by regular shaving of the affected site.
Lancing
The treatment procedure in which pus and blood inside the sinus is collected through an incision made by scalpel. Eventually, the wound is dressed with sterile packing to heal with time.
Phenol injection
