Procedure

The procedusre that needs to be followed during MRI Scan

  • You need to lie on a flat bed that is moved into the scanner
  • A radiographer will supervise and communicate with you during the MRI scan
  • The scan lasts 30 to 60 minutes, depending on the size of the area to be scanned
  • To cancel the loud tapping noise made by scanner coils, you will be given earplugs

A. MRI Scan takes 10-15 minutes depending upon what part of the body is being analyzed and how many images are required.

A. The MRI scan of the brain starts from Rs. 2,500, while for the chest, it starts from Rs. 3,800. As far as whole body MRI scan is concerned, the starting price is Rs. 19,000. However, for exact cost quotes, get in touch with Glamyo Labs coordinators.

A. An MRI scan is usually painless, so anaesthesia isn't required. However, you can ask for a mild sedative if you are claustrophobic.

A. The MRI scan itself does not cause any side effects. It is possible, however, to have some side-effects after receiving an injection of contrast medium (dye) during the investigation. These might include a skin rash, headache, dizziness, and nausea.

A. Results will not be available immediately after the scan. A radiologist will interpret the images and write a report based on what they see. You will then receive your results within 12 hours of the scan.
