No. Hymen repair surgery is done under anaesthetic, which means your doctor numbs the vaginal area before performing. As a result, it is absolutely painless.
However, like with any operation, you will feel a minor pull, itch, and burning feeling around your vaginal area as the anaesthetic wears off and your body becomes alert. Because of your doctor's prescription medicines, this is quite normal and will subside after a few hours. Slowly, as you rest and let some time pass, you will be fully recovered in 5-6 weeks.
Doctors recommend that you wait at least 6-8 weeks after your hymenoplasty procedure before having intercourse. (At the very least, the vaginal tissues begin to mend after 15 days.
No. All reproductive organs, such as the ovaries, fallopian tubes, and uterus, are located much above the cervix, hence hymen repair surgery is only conducted on the external vaginal area. The hymen repair process does not affect a woman's fertility or future pregnancies because no reproductive organs or tissue are disrupted.
A hymen repair process usually takes less than 30 minutes. However, if you factor in basic preparation time, anaesthetic, the surgery itself, and some time for the anaesthesia to wear off, it might take you anywhere from 3 to 4 hours from the time you enter to the time you leave.
