More than 200 international passengers out of the 15 lakh were found positive for the COVID variant BF7, during the random sampling at international airports.

According to the Union Health Minister, Mansukh Mandaviya, the count for COVID positive air travellers returning to India reached 200. The COVID samples collected at the international airports were found positive for COVID variant BF7. 

In view of the fourth wave of COVID, 8,700 flights have been tracked down for COVID variants. The passengers found positive were sent in complete isolation and their samples were taken for thorough genome sequencing.
