After a Karnataka girl got positive for the Zika virus on Tuesday, the chief of the National Technical Advisory Group on Immunisation, Dr N K Arora, alarmed the country about the chances of a Zika virus outbreak in India. He added that the country must get ready to fight against the virus. 

According to the Pune lab reports, a 5-year-old girl from Raichur, Karnataka, got positive for the Zika virus. She has been asked to take proper precautions. 

Another Zika virus case was reported in Maharashtra on 30th November in a 67-year-old patient. In view of this entomological survey has been carried out in Pune to track down future outbreaks.
