What is Digene Syrup? 

Digene is a type of antacid and antigas syrup manufactured by Abbott India Ltd Company. Which is especially used to get relief from many stomach problems. It is mainly used to relieve stomach problems such as indigestion, constipation, sour belching and heartburn. Mainly speaking, Digene Syrup helps in relieving gas and acidity that is produced in the stomach.

Digene Gel is an antacid, which is used for the treatment and prevention of abdominal gas and acidity. Apart from this, Digene Syrup is used for treating acidity, dyspepsia, gastritis, non-ulcer, acid peptic disease.

Composition of Digene syrup –

Talking about the composition of Digene syrup, it consists of the following components which are as follows –

Magnesium Hydroxide 185mg/10ml
Simethicone 50mg/10ml 
Sodium Carboxymethylcellulose 100mg/10ml
Dried Aluminum Hydroxide Gel 830mg/10ml

Digene is prepared by mixing these four components. In which all these elements are given per 10 ml syrup. All these ingredients have different functions, due to which it is used in Digene syrup, so let’s know about its work –

How to use Digene syrup ?

Digene Syrup is a cough/chest pain reliever that should be taken with a full glass of water. Take 1-2 teaspoons for adults and 0.5 teaspoons for children every 4 hours while symptoms persist, but do not exceed 8 teaspoons in a 24-hour period.

Digene Syrup should not be given to infants or children under 4 years of age, unless specifically instructed by their doctor. Call your doctor right away if you have chest tightness, shortness of breath, stomach pain, skin rash, fever, or other signs/symptoms other than small red spots in any part of the mouth.

How Digene Syrup works?

Digene Syrup treats many different types of bacterial infections, including salmonella, cholera and typhoid fever. It is an antibiotic that affects bacteria by slowing or stopping their growth.

The glucose in the liquid is digested into energy and the dextrose aids in digestion and digestion to improve its taste.

Digene Syrup Dose 

Digene Syrup can be taken on an empty stomach or 30 minutes after a meal. Digene is available in both syrup and tablet form. Diazine tablet can be chewed or swallowed. The usual dosage of Diazine tablets is 1 to 4 tablets per day per adult.

How to store Digene syrup? 

To store Digene syrup, it should be protected from sunlight and it should not be kept in the fridge. You can keep it in normal room temperature to store it.

Digene syrup should be used before the expiry date. If this syrup expires, then it should be discarded. It should not be used for a long time. If you do this, then you should definitely ask the doctor about it.

Precaution and Safety

1. This medicine should not be given to anyone under two years of age without a doctor’s permission.

2. Adults with diabetes may have difficulty estimating the dosage they want for themselves, but they need to take care to determine the proper dosage.

but beware! The more Digene Syrup you consume, the higher will be your calorie intake for that day. And if combined with unhealthy eating habits or lack of exercise it can lead to weight gain
